Print at home (or at a print shop)

Set aside 45–60 minutes on Baisakhi morning (or the weekend before). Read the story comic together. Work through the festival facts. Colour the celebration scene. Build the kite. Fill in the journal. Getting the best results

Colour vs. B&W

Colour printing is recommended for the cover, facts page and certificate. The colouring page and journal work perfectly in black and white — that's the point of them. Set your printer to "fit to page" to avoid margins cutting off edges.

Paper weight

Standard 80gsm printer paper is fine. For the certificate, use heavier paper (100–120gsm) if you want to frame it — most offices have this or you can buy a small pack at any stationery shop.

Kite craft tip

For the kite, print on regular paper — it needs to be light enough to fly. Colour it before you cut it out. Thread a 1-metre piece of string through the bottom point and you're ready to fly.
